June

4 June 10

Hi hi!

I've always said that one needs a four month hiatus from blogging. No, really. (No, not really.)

After Tore divorced us, Andrew moved on to keep working on his solo music outfit Silvereye, and I was once again a solo artist for a time.

But, I'm not good at sitting still and after many fantasies of having strings in my band, I introduce you from left to right: Alex, Chief Cello Wranger, and Dave, Lead Guitar, Booty Slapper (percussion) and backing vocals.

These two boys are fantastic musicians and are making things sound oh so very sweet.

They're great dancers as well, but it wouldn't be professional of me to post such videos.

We played our first gig together at the Australian Women's Health Conference here in Hobart, because I like to start small and ease into things.

So they kicked back on the beanbags and enjoyed the other music. They were vastly outnumbered - they brought the male numbers to 5, out of 400.

Here we are backstage after our first gig:

And you'll notice that we're all a bit tired, and I'm sadly the tallest member of the band again. I'm ducking down here, too. So we're off again, full gig steam ahead. With cello and slide guitar, coupled with banjo and mandolin it's a completely different sound. I think you'll like it.

Come along and see us play with The Beards (SA) tonight at the Republic Bar, or at the Irish Murphy's Folk Festival on June 13, or with John Flanagan at the Alley Cat Bar on July 8.

Want us to play near you? Send an email to bookings AT amykendall DOT com DOT au.
